In June, 1984, he came to Spain with the idea of creating his own clinic and to spread the Shiatsu in our country which, at that time, was practically unknown. Shigeru Onoda created his first clinic in 1984 and in 1987 he started to spread Shiatsu by teaching a small group of 5 pupils.

Since then, Shigeru Onoda has opened two Shiatsu centres in Madrid and the Shiatsu Japanese School that counts with more than two hundred pupils.

In 1992 he founded the SHIATSU SPANISH ASSOCIATION that gathered the pupils who had learned Shiatsu with him and little by little the Shiatsu started to create its own space in Spain, and is now beginning to be known for its therapeutic efficiency.

In 1993 he edited his first book " SHIATSU NO KIHON " (BASIC SHIATSU), where he gathered in a simple and graphical way the basis of Namikoshi's Shiatsu.

In September 1996 he founded the JAPANESE SCHOOL OF SHIATSU whose opening was honored by the presence of Teachers Matsuko Namikoshi and Takashi Namikoshi who came from Japan to congratulate Shigeru Onoda for his effort in the spreading of Shiatsu and to guarantee his work as a teacher of this technique.

In 1997 he published his second book titled "Complete Book of Shiatsu". In 1999 and 2000 he organised and attended different national and international Congresses among which it honors the XIII International Congress (Madrid-October 2000 and October 2002) with the participation of every country in the world where there are centres and schools of Shiatsu. The International Association of Shiatsu of the Namikoshi Style already operates since January 2000 and counts among its main countries Japan, Canada, Spain, Italy and Hawaii.

In the mentioned Congress of October 2000, Shigeru Onoda was recognized as the only representative in Spain of the Japan Shiatsu College of Tokyo.

In 2004 he set up the group Namikoshi Shiatsu Europe, recognized and supported by the Japan Shiatsu College to promote and make possible the spread of shiatsu in Europe.

At the moment the association has two centres in Madrid, one in Malaga and associated schools in Valencia, Granada and Canarias where shiatsu is taught and thousand of people are getting wellness of this technique.

Besides attending seminars and congress over America and Europe,  Shigeru Onoda teaches his own technique called AZE Shiatsu developed by him during all this years of experience and work.
